My research
Welcome to my PhD Journey!
My research journey started with a passion for learning about autism and developmental disabilities and the discovery of cross-cultural research, Global Mental Health and Implementation Science. Merged with a lifelong curiosity for Education sciences, these interests soon became an idea for a PhD project.
My PhD centerd around developing a culturally-appropriate intervention to promote effective inclusion and support of children with developmental disabilities in mainstream primary schools in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (pictured above). The intervention package, including a teacher training programme, awareness materials and a plan for reorganising special classes, has been co-developed in collaboration with local stakeholders and implemented and evaluated in four schools .
